Here's What You Need to Know
There are 27 Bright Spot Planters strategically located around the city. We recruit for this program year-round, so please consider volunteering if you enjoy gardening or just being part of a project that rewards you with a sense of accomplishment and community pride. Many times, as people drive by they will stop to say thank you and comment on how much they enjoy the planters.
This program depends solely on the dedication of community volunteers to plant, water and maintain the planters. Keep Middletown Beautiful provides everything needed for a successful planter. The flowers, a planting diagram, specialized fertilizers and soil amendments are chosen for each planter's particular sun requirements and needs.
We choose flowers that are drought tolerant and have proven themselves in test trials. With proper watering we guarantee success.
Through experience we have found that two to three people working together on a spot is a good system so that vacations and unexpected absences can be covered. Get together with friends or co-workers and do something positive for your community.
